Alison Baker Recognized as Outstanding Young Lawyer of Mississippi for The Mississippi Bar | People
Alison Baker of Gulfport received The Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division Outstanding Young Lawyer of Mississippi Award for 2012-2013 during The Mississippi Bar’s 2013 Annual Meeting. The recipient of the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award exemplifies professional proficiency, service to the profession and service to the community, state and nation.
Alison is the Assistant District Attorney for Harrison County. She assisted the Mississippi Bar’s Young Lawyers Division Professional Development Committee, the Lawyer in Every Classroom Committee, the Mock Trial Committee and the Women in the Profession Committee. She served as Chair of the 15th Annual Price Prather Luncheon, and is currently serving as Secretary/Treasurer for the Harrison County Bar Association.
Alison is an active member of the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association, and acted as the South Mississippi Liaison for MWLA. Along with her professional work and associations, Alison gives back to the community daily, working with the Boys and Girls Club, and received an award for her outstanding volunteer efforts. Among her peers she is commended for her high values, strong work ethic in her profession, and a strong passion for her work.
The Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division is composed of all lawyers under the age of 37 which totals over 2,000 licensed attorneys. The Young Lawyers Division is governed by its Board of Directors and is active in many public service endeavors.
